This is my wife and I's favorite Thai spot in Kansas City. Just full stop, eating in you have prompt, efficient And friendly service, along with some of the best Pad Thai I've ever had! Picking up is super quick and easy and always comes out fresh and you're never waiting too long for your food in the car.
We live close to Lulu's and Lemongrass (within walking distance) and I'd rather drive to Thai Place 10/10 times to eat there because the difference is that apparent.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 29, 20247 check-ins
We love this place! Always has delicious flavors and many choices and options! The spice levels vary from day to day, probably chef preference, so I always play it safe and order Mild Plus. It can get pretty hot even with a Medium spice level sometimes! I love their pad thai, but I like to order it without vegetables because I don't like the crunch (most of my photos don't have vegetables in them). They never get my order wrong. I also like the thai iced tea, it's very sweet and milky! A nice treat to have with your meal. The curry and soups are also delicious here. I also really enjoy the fried rice options, they're all very flavorful and have good texture. I like the little pieces of egg in them! It is spacious, we have rarely had to wait very long for a table here, and it is pretty much always busy! Great lunch or dinner spot, almost no phone signal though.

Finally! Finally got to try out this place. If you are looking for an authentic Thai, this place is it. Good food and great service.
We came in during lunch hours. And they were packed. But that did not stop them from providing good service. We had to ask for the dinner menu because the papaya salad isn't on their lunch menu. And that is must whenever I try out a new Thai restaurant.
We ordered a few dishes to try. Tiger beef is a bit salty, and I did not like the sauce. But their spicy crab fried rice is delicious. Their Laos style papaya salad is also very good. Might be my new place for papaya salad and that is a compliment.
Overall, I really enjoy the food. I am looking forward to our next trip here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 187158590Oct 13, 2023
We visited this place long time ago, but didn't get a chance to write a feedback about them today we ordered a takeout we ordered Il chicken wings, chicken dumplings, and crab fried rice. These were the recommendations from the restaurant. Trust me I was surprised how amazing the wings were, and how flavorful the crap fried rice was The dumplings were OK. The food was prepared very quick. They also gave us a complimentary hot sauce. We went around 8 o'clock, and the restaurant was completely packed. It had a great vibe. It didn't smell at all inside. They have a good vibe and amazing drinks must visit Thai place around the city.

Came here for a friend's birthday dinner, and it was a great time! We made a reservation prior and were seated promptly. To share, we ordered the Pad Kee Mow, Golden Crab Fried Rice, Pad Thai, and Panang Curry. Everything was delicious, and the portions were quite large. My favorites were the fried rice and curry. There was a generous amount of crab meat in the fried rice, so it wasn't mostly rice like it usually is! We were also allowed to bring in cupcakes which was nice. The waitress came over to check up on us throughout the night, service was great, and our friend enjoyed her birthday. I know where I'll be going next time I have a craving for Thai food!

Best Thai place in KC IMHO.
Food, Service and Ambiance all hit their mark.
Tried Thai food the 1st time in 2005 or so, ordered medium pad thai as if I thought it was like medium Pace Picante sauce.
By the end of the meal Milk would have been an Oasis.
After that, spicy food was my thing. Luckily you can order Mild/no spice/medium/medium +/hot/Thai Hot - for the Carolina Reaper folks.
Pad Thai, Grapow, Ga dang etc are all on the menu, and tasty always.
In my experience they take the same care for carry out as dine in, and have never heard of carry out issues.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 10834422375Jul 7, 2023
Visiting KC , my brother's neighbor suggested Thai Place so off we went and WOW! This was some of the best Thai cuisine I've ever had! We had papaya salad and soft spring rolls to start. Everything was fresh and vibrant and the papaya salad was tangy and spicy just as it should be! I want to try their soups next time!!
Main courses we shared were:
Mother-In-Law beef- a ground beef dish that was light and delicately spiced with red and green peppers and a side of white rice. SCRUMPTIOUS!
Tamarind Chicken- in a subtle spicy sauce with Bok Choy and rice. Yummy!
Chicken Pad Thai-insanely delicious classic recipe.
They have very good service and nice clean restaurant with traditional Thai ambiance. The folks working there were kind, gentle and very attentive!
A must for any Thai cuisine connoisseurs!!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Danny G.Naples, FL1388Mar 2, 2024
The tofu dishes we ordered were more like soup. Very few ingredients. Too spicy. Not a good value.

We love this Thai restaurant. Good food and good service. They seated us quickly for dinner and then gave my toddler a small cup of water with a lid to drink out of.
We ordered our entire dinner all at once, but I asked for a few things to be prioritized so that my toddler could eat first. The eggrolls and grilled chicken satay with a side of rice came out piping hot and very quickly. My toddler loved the eggrolls (crispy, well-stuffed) and the chicken was juicy.
I love the phad thai gaeng daeng and basically get it every time. It's phad thai with red curry mixed in it. Very good and they can dial back the spicy level. Normally, I eat it flaming hot but my toddler likes to eat from our plate so we kept it pretty mild.
We tried the moon flower roasted duck for the first time and it was delicious. I was so surprised. The duck was cut into small pieces and still very tender. The sauce was full of ginger and garlic, so tasty and umami.
During dinner, my infant was crying and they were so understanding. They boxed and bagged all our leftovers so that we could help our kiddos. We had ordered a phad sea eaw to go but they had forgotten to put it in, so they whipped an order up and gave it to us on the house! I love this family-owned restaurant and love it even more since it is so family-friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kari P.Topeka, KS917376May 9, 2023
Everything we ordered was delicious. The tiger cry beef was good, but not the best I've ever had.
My dish was seasoned to perfection. I ordered medium heat and it danced on the line between medium and hot. I've ordered medium at other Thai restaurants and it was so hot, it made me wonder if the kitchen forgot they had seasoned it, so gave it twice the spice. Thai Place was perfect.
Would definitely recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
